The School for Christian Studies is happy to announce an online confirmation class offering for anyone in the diocese who may not have access to a class in their local congregation. Classes will be offered on Monday evenings 6:30 – 8:00pm, beginning September 14 and ending November 2.

Each class will be led, on Zoom, by The Reverend Mercedes Clements and will center around the Book of Common Prayer and Your Faith, Your Life by Jennifer Gamber.

Attention, Episcopal Churches in the Arkansas Diocese!  All 6th through 12th grade youth are invited to retreat to Camp Mitchell for Arkansas Youth Event (AYE).

AYE is a weekend retreat for youth designed by youth from the Diocesan Youth Leadership Council (DYLC). AYE brings youth together from across the diocese for a weekend of faith exploration and fellowship - with plenty of fun mixed in!

This fall's retreat theme is based on the story of Bartimaeus from the gospel of Mark: "Take heart, have courage, He is calling you."

Be sure you’re registered by September 4 to be guaranteed an AYE t-shirt. Registration fee is $135, scholarships are always available!

The Rev. Dr Benjamin King is the Academic Dean and Duncalf-Villavoso Professor of Church History at Seminary of the Southwest. He has taught history at Episcopal seminaries since 2009. King is the author of two books: Newman and the Alexandrian Fathers; The Oxford Movement and the People of God: Enslavement, Education, and Empire. He is the co-editor of two more: Receptions of Newman and The Oxford Handbook of John Henry Newman. He also contributed to the cause for Newman to be declared a Doctor of the Catholic Church in 2025 and was part of the Anglican delegation which met the pope. Dr King has been an Episcopal priest since 2000.
