Harriet and Warren Stephens Episcopal Scholarships for Delta Students

For the 2024–25 school year

Students in certain Delta counties (Arkansas; Ashley; Chicot; Crittenden; Cross; Desha; Drew; Jefferson; Lee; Lincoln; Mississippi; Monroe; Phillips; St. Francis; and Woodruff) who are high school are welcome to apply for a Stephens Scholarship to attend college within Arkansas.

The selection committee especially seeks applicants with both demonstrated financial need and demonstrated potential to succeed in a college or university setting. Please spread the word about this diocesan-administered scholarship, both among qualifying students and among those who work with them.

Students graduating high school in 2024 should apply as new students. Students who received Stephens Scholarships in 2023-24 are also eligible to apply, as continuing students.

Please submit the form and all the items in the checklist either by email (recommended) or postal mail. Every required item must be received for an application to be complete.

REQUIRED APPLICATION MATERIALS CHECKLIST

  • Completed and signed application form.

  • An application letter written by you that includes the following information:

  • Personal motivation for attending college.

  • Personal or family experiences relevant to your college plans.

  • Career and Academic interests.

  • Plans for your future.

  • Your current 2024 high school or college transcript.

  • A copy of your ACT and/or SAT score(s)

  • Documentation of your family’s annual income, such as a completed FAFSA (Federal Application for Student Aid) form.

  • Two letters of reference sent directly by their authors to the Stephens Scholarship Fund, at the Episcopal Diocese of Arkansas, P.O. Box 164668, Little Rock, AR 72216-4668 or to Betty Guhman via email at guhman@comcast.net. Letters should be from adults who know you well and who are not members of your family, including one letter from school personnel (such as teacher, counselor, etc.).
